The Asset Institute welcomed the Sunshine Coast Council as its newest member on 29 March 2017.
Sunshine Coast Council manages a local government area located in South East Queensland, Australia. The council provides a range of services and community facilities for its residents and is delivering a range of region-making projects.
Over the next five years the council will see its new city centre in Maroochydore take shape as Australia’s first truly smart city; complete its new runway at the Sunshine Coast Airport; off-set 100% of its electricity consumption with energy produced by its solar farm; strengthen the vibrancy of its communities with new facilities and services; and deliver innovative and creative solutions in public areas to enhance access to information and services.
The Mayor and councillors work closely with the Executive Leadership Team and staff to deliver a range of plans and strategies that guide the delivery of major projects across the region and council’s capital works program. Sunshine Coast Council is working towards its vision for the Sunshine Coast to be Australia’s most sustainable region – healthy, smart, creative.
